The Meaning of Matter

The Meaning of Matter is a research project that explores the relationships we form with material objects and their impact on the future of archaeology. Taking examples from history, this project compares natural versus man-made interventions of decay to demonstrate how our changing judgements affect the fluidity of value. This questions the glamorisation of certain societies and the effort put into the conservation of Britain's colonial history in comparison to Britain's material history.
